We're tempted to name our next collection of poetry Naked Elvis Presley And Live, Nude Poetry because fans of Elvis Presley will check it out to see if it contains poems about Elvis Presley, and nearly everyone else searching for live nude anything on the Internet will also stop by to check it out.
Perhaps we should work in Britney Spears and that Jessica Alba gal into the subtitle. Can anyone help me out with some famous stars who would also draw big on a Google search? Natalie Portman? I think she was in that hit movie Black Swan, but don't quote me on that, I haven't even seen the latest True Grit movie. I'd like to, you know, but I only get out to see one or two movies a year. I like the popcorn in movie theaters, and those huge Coca-cola soda pops they sell you.
If I can have the book come out in May, I can tout Bob Dylan's 70th birthday in the subtitle. Then all those Dylan Thomas and Bob Dylan fans will check it out, then curse me out, but, hey, what did you expect for free?
How would this work: Naked Elvis Presley And Live, Nude Poetry About Britney Spears, Madonna, Bob Dylan and Natalie Portman
Coming soon to a book burning in your neighborhood ...

THUNDER ON THE MOUNTIAN - VIDEO
Thunder on the Mountain Video - Bob Dylan in all his hats!
At first you say, what is this sh*t, then you watch the video and it's almost funny the way the old Dylan and the new Dylan and the young dylan and the Rolling Thunder Review Dylan keep smashing into one another.
And you don't have to be Hoot Gibson to know that the song is not in sync with any of the video.
So if you want to see rare Dylan get thee to the Morgan Libary in NYC before the exhibit there closes! Make sure you sit through his ad lib lyrics based on the pet store signage.

Why not everybody can be a stand-up comedian.

BACK TO SCHOOL: INSTITUTIONAL GREEN

One of the best things about Amazon.com is that you can look for out of print titles and if they are available buy them and be reading them in no time.
In the old days, you might have had to go to a used book store and browse the stacks for hours to find a treasure.
(Reminds me of the argument in The Strawberry Statement, Notes of A College Revolutionary by James Simon Kunen - where he passes a Hard-To-Find-Records store and argues that if the record is in the store then it can't be too hard to find. But I digress.)
One of those lost treasures I recovered recently was a copy of a book I lost in 1971 or so right in front of my house while I was playing street hockey.
I had laid the book - Our Time is Now; Notes From the High School Underground, edited by John Birmingham - down with my school books and later when I got inside it had gone missing.

A NOD TO BOB - AT 65
Naively, I thought that every song and poem spewed forth from the artist's pen fully formed.
Then my girlfriend (now Aunt Tonoose) bought me the first edition of this LYRICS 1962-1985 book and there it was, an unedited copy of Subterranean Homesick Blues by Bob Dylan.
Suddenly, it was okay to write things that could be fixed up later.
Suddenly, it was okay to write things that could be fixed up later.
Heck, I would never be Bob Dylan, (Aunt Tonoose knew that all along) but I was on MY way to wherever this writing life would take me.
On Wednesday, May 24, the artist turns 65.
On Wednesday, May 24, the artist turns 65.
His four-plus decades of music and performing have had some ups and downs, but so many of his tunes fit like an old glove.
The tunes and the verse have provided solace and inspired rage and just about everything in between.
His voice, well, you get used to it after a while.
Happy birthday, Bob ... wherever you are and whatever you're doing.
