NYC Subway’s ‘Courtesy’ Campaign Against Manspreading Backfires

‘Dude, stop the spread!’ The New York Subway adverts that will bid to tackle the scourge of ‘manspreading’

  • Campaign will carry slogan: Courtesy Counts: Manners Make a Better Ride 
  • More customers than ever are crowding onto New York underground trains 
  • As many as 6.1 million riders were used the Subway on a single day in 2014

Buccino rings in new year at poetry marathon in Montclair

The Montclair Monthly Poetry Series, coordinated by Laura Boss and Maria Mazziotti Gillan, is presenting a New Year Poetry Marathon Reading on Thursday, January 8. 


This free event is from 7 p.m. to - 9 p.m. at the Montclair Public Library (auditorium), 50 South Fullerton Ave., Montclair, New Jersey.

Local poets will read a few poems each during the Marathon portion of the evening. An open reading will follow. 

Poets include: Susan Amsterdam, Susan Lembo Balik, Ron Bremner, Anthony Buccino, Linda Cronin, Gail Fishman Gerwin, Martin Golan, Jim Gwyn, Elizabeth Marchitti, Marilyn Mohr, Frank Niccoletti, Ken Ronkowitz, Bob Rosenbloom, Rachel Parker, Janet Kolstein, Elissa Gordon and D. M. Dutcher.

Buccino has published seven poetry collections.

Buccino publishes book for history lovers

A New Book for Nutley History Lovers 

Nutley Notables: The Men and Women Who Made a Memorable Impact on Our Home Town, Nutley, New Jersey

Nutley writer and author Anthony Buccino has published Nutley Notables, the Men and Women Who Made a Memorable Impact on Our Home Town, Nutley, New Jersey. 

Buccino published more than fifteen books including four essay collections, three military history books and seven full-length poetry collections.  He has been called ' “New Jersey’s ‘Garrison Keillor” or something to that effect.’ His poem  At The Vet has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize.

The township of Nutley, New Jersey, has accumulated a wealth of celebrated and eccentric people who over-shadowed the salt-of-the-earth folks who lived here, raised their families and built the town into the place that Norman Rockwell only dreamed of illustrating for the cover of the  Saturday Evening Post. This new book profile nearly 200 townsfolks,  some you may know and many you will not forget.
