Halloween Candy Secrets

Retro Candy

You first give to trick-or-treaters the candy you like the least. That way if there's anything left over it will be something you like.

If your kids come back with candy they don't like, you give that to the kids still ringing your doorbell, then save the candy you like for yourself.

Clark's Teaberry - artificial flavor

Adams Sour Apple Gum

Beeman's Chewing Gum

Black Jack Chewing Gum

Wax Bottles

Acme

Saturday afternoon we were food shopping at Acme in Clifton.

I fell into a trance at the toy section, which though small triggered the flashback, cue the organist, theme music.

There was a Duncan Yo-Yo
and a Slinky

And next to the deck of Old Maid playing cards
were two Light Sabers.

When I was a kid we made swords out of wood and tried to put each other's eye out.

At the end of the aisle, the Brach's candy corns were for sale more than a month ahead of Halloween. (The only time it's okay to take candy from strangers.)
