FLASHBACK FRIDAY North To Alaska

Frankie Laine, Johnny Horton, John Wayne ... these are the names that pop into my head when I start singing to myself that old song, North To Alaska.

I always say Goin North to Alaska, north to the Russia zone.
Of course, those were the Cold War days and we all knew that the Russians wanted Alaska back after Seward swindled them out of it. That would have made a good James Bond plot, no? Not only did they find gold in Alaska, but later they found Texas Tea, Black Gold - oil. And lots of it.

But, of course, I was a kid and got the lyrics a bit mangled. Listen for yourself:
